Just got back from Oshkosh, I mean Airventure, and what a great time that was. After many years of making excuses, I finally made it to the big show. From what I have read, gas prices caused a somewhat low turn out compared to prior years, but I wouldn't know. I attended a few of the forums, browsed the flight lines quite a bit, and talked to many vendors. Mahlon from Mattituck, Rhonda from Barrett Engines, and the guys at the Trio booth really impressed me with the time they took to educate a relative newbie like me. In fact, I left feeling like I had started a friendship with many of them... isn't the aviation community great!
On Tuesday night I had dinner with the guys and girls from RivetBangers.com, and then on Wednesday night I attended the RV Builder's Family Reunion BBQ. I had a great time at both and got to meet many of the folks I only knew from online.
Well, I am home now and very motivated to get this thing flying... so back to work I go!
Bright and early Monday Morning at the main gate!
The RV-12 Proto-type was on display at the Van's tent.
Scott's RV-7 with the new Garmin G900X... amazing... expensive, but amazing!
Darwin Barrie's gorgeous RV-7. I had a great time having some beers and hanging out with Darwin and Chad Jensen at the BBQ.
Just one of many RV formation fly-bys
